Hi guys

So for the last few months i have been teaching a few children (aged between 8-12) some basic programming and website design.

So far i have just been teaching one on one in their homes. I have recently been approached by more people but i don't have to much more time available.

I have a number of computers around here and also have a good space for teaching groups available to me. I figured i could set it up to teach in groups of 3-7 kids at a time, but not sure about the legalities of teaching/looking after kids.

At the moment it is only with people who know me and have approached me first but if it worked well i would like to advertise it, I don't have and qualifications or certificates for teaching or looking after children and i am not sure if these are required?

I can't find much info relating to NZ on the internet - is their a specific site i should be looking at?

Cheers

If you are tutoring then I don't think there are any requirements for qualifications, etc.

But when dealing with children you want to cover your own arse. Should always be a group environment, never alone. Preferably more than one adult present. Maybe roster on the parents telling them you just need to extra support...

All the best.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Yes i did figure always keep it to a group. I will also always have another person their just to cover my arse as you say. Better to be safe than sorry with these things.

Cheers for you help.
