This was for a digital camcorder .. So when did HP suddenly become the ONLY player?

Bummer, I can't buy this camcorder - I built my own computer, and is certainly not a HP.

Since when were cameras and the like Mac un-friendly? I've NEVER had to install drivers on my Mac, everything just works! *
