Hello you fine folk,

I see you may have misinterpreted my attempt at humour as 'denigrating.'  It really would not make sense me partaking in what could be construed as a PR exercise by commencing with abusing you all.  This was not the intention - I was just beginning with a little fun (Ricky Gervais would have been impressed) before I got to the issue at hand. Hence not three, but four exclamation marks at the end of that particular sentence. The fact is a few of here regularly contribute to various forum sites, so any judgement would simply be the 'pot calling the kettle black'.  So no offence intended.

Shreyas - pretty much all P&D machines used in this country are made by the same manufacturer.  They come with one software platform, and if the credit card function is activated, they all add the 50c fee (which goes to the credit card company) as soon as you have swiped your card.  We do nothing different.  But again, send in your breach number (I cannot identify your breach from the P&D ticket) and it shall be waived.  If you provided an email with your breach appeal, you'll receive confirmation today.

Have a Great Friday,

Chief Tournament Geek

The building I usually park in is a Tournament job and they've got ParkMobile which removes the need to think about it very much once it's setup initially - presumably this hasn't been rolled out significantly yet?

sweet.

next time I make a 'mistake' and don't pay for parking I'll be sure to moan about it on the internet until somebody comes along and waives the entire fine.

if you have been following fair go (ok, so the show 'appears' one sided) it seems that every parking patron has been set up to fail, and then hit with an illogical 'fine' which has no bearing on the offence quoted or deemed infringed!

absolutely disgraceful

Dunno about fair go, but the OP in this thread clearly made a mistake and now after moaning on the internet has had the fine reversed.

I’m just saying it is pretty cool and I look forward to doing the same.

I received a call from Fair Go last week and they want to interview me. I am still in two minds about accepting it.

I have been waiting a full two working days for a simple confirmation that is yet to arrive. Come on Tournament!

It maybe worth doing so others don't have the same problem, and so people are aware of it. They wouldn't interview you if they didn't think that there was a story in it. But good on TP for putting this right in your case.

Yes exactly, I've received the same advice from people close to me. If I do end up doing it it'll only be for that reason.

the OP clearly didn't press the button enough times to get up to the desired spend to get the full day parking. (he got up to $7.50 instead of the desired $8) He then misread the display and assumed he had paid $8 for parking when in fact he had paid $7.50 and the $8.0 was the total including the 50c transaction fee

Possibly, but it also depends on how clear it was. If fair go are running a story on it, then there maybe other people who have had the same problem.
