has anyone managed to change their rewards to airports?  Mine always says 'something went wrong' .  very helpful!

I got that when trying to link flybuys to New World card when it was a thing. I rang up, turned out to be DOB on flybuys didn’t match DOB that New World had so got the something went wrong. You’ll have to probably ring them, could be something different. They seem to match data, and if a discrepancy then a vague something went wrong and it doesn’t work.

On iOS, you can add a widget to the Home Screen for the new world or PAK’nSAVE app which has the barcode on it

But once you have /a/ barcode you don't need the apps?

Convenience wise, Supercards = single multi-card manager with tap to open widgets. (And watch support)

Whereas Companion store apps = multiple 90+Mb apps (Android at least) to produce a simple barcode. (The same one all the apps will produce)

If do online shopping, then need applics to do ordering, and also to track any points.

If do all shopping in store, and don’t care about checking points then don’t need applics, just a barcode to scan.

Sure. But the threads about club+. Not the online shopping. Their suggestion I replied to of opening the barcode via pak n save app shortcut. Something that's obviously not referring to /needed if they were talking online.

Certainly don't need them solely for point tracking either if you rather pick your own products. Web login has the tracking. The only thing they hold you ransom to around club+ itself so far is if you want the fuel vouchers.

You need Club+ to do the online shopping. The thread is about Club+, but if don’t have Club+ then cannot do online shop, so online shop is part of Club+.

Sure may be able to do things on website, but I find it more cumbersome then using an application in general.

I like to use 01/01/1970 as my DOB wherever I can. Born at unix time zero.👌

Fixed it.

It doesn't change that an app is not needed to find the barcode as mentioned. Look at the original reply chains that you replied to me in. I was responding to someone else.

Although not your shopping preference. The responses were appropriate to the method the user I was replying.

Interestingly, the number for my club card and new world card are identical as are the bar codes.

In New World yesterday, scanned the new card and the self checkout acknowledged it, but didn’t populate any club savings as I expected it to ($0.00 savings and none of the multibuy offers showed on the screen).

so checked out and printed a receipt (as was going to head over the customer service to show them), however the receipt was actually showing the discounts and multibuys, so all good.

Had a look at my partner's app yesterday. Interesting to see it promoting personalised special pricing on regularly purchased products, but only as online purchase option, not in-store as far as I could see. Online purchasing is a prerequisite should they want to introduce dynamic pricing at some future point (although note they have said they are not currently considering it).

Our New World has put signs up on all the self-checkouts saying (paraphrasing) "You need to scan your Club+ card before scanning any items to see the discounts, otherwise they will only show up at the end". They looked like proper printed signs from a print shop, so I'd say this limitation was known before going live.

I scanned right at the start and it showed the discounts as I scanned the items.

I got hassled about it at my local New World this morning. I told them I don't want it.

I don't shop online and I only make small and infrequent purchases at New World, so I figure that the privacy risks and the hassle  of setting it up outweigh the benefits.

As far as I can tell, you only get discounts now if you are a Club+ member.

Previously, they had Super Savers, which was a discount anyone could get even if they were not a Clubcard holder. I am not seeing Super Savers any more, just Club+ DEAL labels.

No Club+ membership, potentially means no discounts from now on.

New World is very close to home, so we do a lot of shopping there. Not uncommon to "save" 20% or more with the old Club Card. I use quotation marks because it just illustrates how much they are obviously jacking up the regular prices. I'd still only buy brands I like, but go with the one on special. e.g. "Copper Kettles" or "Proper Crisps" - I like them both, so would buy whichever is on special.

Although no more crisps for me now, but that's another story.
