We'll I'm pumped for it, mainly because I've built this site that will source a whole bunch of "fun" from the forth coming carnage.

http://www.yourdriving.co.nz/

Real-time stats etc., plus there is a little surprise when it goes live at 5am :)

I'm going to be safe at home all day, watching this roll on.

Nice site there dude. If there is carnage, I guess it means old school drivers were way superior to the new school drivers when it changed last time, as from memory there was bugger all in the way of crashes.

Fewer vehicles on the road back then.

Yes but drink driving was the norm as well.

Edit: Also its one on one at an intersection, doesn't really matter how many vehicles in total were on the roads.

Just been out and almost got hit on the very first intersection due to the other person not applying the new rule. Luckily I was driving slowly to err on the side of caution, otherwise we may have had a collision.

No other issues on the way out, but on the way back I saw someone just drift around the corner without indicating...

Wow, what a fun day. Went through almost 30 intersections, at various times of the day, and never had any issues at all!

Great work by the drivers on the roads so far. Will see how tomorrow goes with peak hour traffic

A good website would have a useful 404 page or just strip the trailing whitespace from it.

edit: and the red car is driving over the footpath when turning.

Appreciate the feedback :)

This was built in 6 hours (including design), so things like mobile versions and fine tuning were not doable :(

Red car is from south auckland.  Footpaths are just extra road.

gcarmich: Number 11 is interesting. The approaching car should received a fine of $150.00. I wonder why they included that.

I didnt notice that when I did it?

Much better than the govt's ones which are all top down views so hopeless. And also they show just how absurd it is to have to tell what signs another car is controlled by when you can barely see the signs.

Had the car behind honking at us whilst giving way waiting to turn right into a side road this morning Cool

putting it in reverse for a bit seems to shut people like that up.

In my whole drive to and from work there isnt a single intersection where I am affected by the changes except for turning into the road, and on the way home it will just be turning into my road which is different so really no big changes at all.
