That's been my experience ordering from Aliexpress with their free shipping, 4 - 5 weeks. I think I once had something arrive in 2 weeks and I was really surprised.

I've had 4 days once. It just depends on when the bags get full enough to send on, and how soon you get relabeled once its in the country if they're using a consolidator that does that.

Im amazed at how cheap packaging materials must be for them over there, the cost of some of the items delivered to me here wouldnt buy the bubble envelope locally. Tempted to see if I can order some from there rather than using blackwoods.

It's an interesting point you make about Pak n Save, I hadn't been to one in like.. 15 years? However, we were in CHCH recently and Riccarton PNS was the closest. I was super impressed actually. I normally shop at either New World or Farro/Nosh type places, my local butcher because he will do cuts of meat for me I struggle to get elsewhere and the like. At least in Riccarton, PNS has really lifted it's game. I didn't notice anyone misbehaving though I wasn't really paying attention to that, but certainly, the quality of the Butchery, Bakery and Vege sections were a far cry from my last experiences where I swore I'd never return. I'd even go so far as to say the selection and appearance were superior to my own New World. We are going to take a look at the Mt Albert one to see if it's similar.

Our local Pak n Save (albeit in a wealthy area) has quite good offerings. What we don't enjoy are all the nasty people (contrary to the line that some other posters - not you - were trying to take the P&S discussion down to, I personally have never observed the bad behaviour as being the sole preserve of the poorer and supposedly "lower" classes) that seem to buy a disproportionate amount of alcohol, stuffing their trolleys with goods, and generally acting completely inconsiderate and aggressive as though their choice to do a huge amount of shopping at once is some kind of pain inflicted upon them by others.

Are you paying more for shipping to get it faster from china? The default free or lower cost shipping seem to take around a month.

Shipping times really depend on the seller and the shipping method - not all sellers are created equal, and not all shipping methods are the same. Aliexpress is only a marketplace, not a store.

When I last looked I'd had over 200 orders from Aliexpress and over the years I'd say my average shipping times are 2-3 weeks. I've probably had 30+ instances of products arriving within a week to 10 days.

The biggest factor is actually how long it takes for the seller to ship the goods and how long it takes to actually make it into the postal system.

Out of all those orders I'd probably say there would be less than 10 that have taken any longer than a month, but clearly that's based on the sellers I'm buying stuff from and the shipping methods they use. I've only had my first package recently that never arrived (well it was ordered early Nov and still hasn't shown up and the seller has provided two different tracking numbers that don't show up in any tracking system).

Just do a refund for bad tracking numbers now. They're real fast to refund if you buy a lot on there and get into the good tier of buyer.

The issue I have found most often with Aliexpress is sellers sending total rubbish. Ali claims to protect the buyer, but in my experience this involves a lot of hassle especially if the seller know how to play their game. It's far quicker and easier to simply contact my bank and initiate a changeback.
