Many years ago Mum got a cheque from a rental car company to refund her bond or whatever they called it. She took it into her bank and the teller noticed the cheque hadn't been signed. The dread started setting in anticipating a bunch of back and forward via the phone and post. The teller then said (paraphrased) 'I'll put it through anyway and we'll follow up if it's rejected. They don't tend to check signatures for cheques under $5,000'. Sure enough the bank cleared it - with no signature.
Guess someone determined the threshold of what that bank was prepared to accept covering a loss from fraud as a cost of business vs the cost of delays and checking signatures.
As someone who worked on bank IT systems I can tell you the signatures were read by the check processing machines but never compared to the account unless they were disputed. Otherwise the system would have collapsed on the first day.

has anyone managed to change their rewards to airports? Mine always says 'something went wrong' . very helpful!
Yes, via the web login, it seemed to work just fine
Consumer has concurred with poster findings. No real advantage for PnS use other than their marketing gains for online shop requirements.
Pushing you to premium brands for apparent point bonuses if you weren't already a NW regular.

certainly I’m not going to use it at PNS and give them access to my person data and shopping habits. If they are doing that it needs to provide benefits both ways. But I can see them requiring it in the future for fuel discounts. It must cost them a bit to print out the vouchers but it is a massive waste of paper when you just want a printed receipt but also get a voucher. You can’t opt out of the voucher printout

I beg to differ...
Every time I shop at PaknSav / Albany / Wairau / Westgate / Silverdale, I ask the teller 'Just the receipt please, not the Petrol.'
90% of the time - that's what I get.
I put the 10% down to / my slight accent / their hard hearing / finger trouble.
But it's the exception, not the rule.

mine doesn’t give an option. Just says, do you want a printout of the receipt and fuel voucher. It is just a yes and no answer. That is self checkout which is the only solution if you don’t want to wait for the limited tills open that still have staff

I find that even with a voucher, their fuel is more expensive than Waitomo anyway.
What a waste of time this has been to be honest especially if you are a PnS shopper.
No doubt all of this just adds to the cost of groceries.

Basically they've followed the Woolworths/Everyday rewards path, of separating the identify of the card from the supermarkets.
They're hoping this will make it easier to drag other retailers into it to help generates cash to run the thing,

I remember a few months ago, for a few days paper dockets at my local PaknSave printed with a New World logo at the top! The local shop's address and contact details were correct.
Don't know what that was about but certainly suggests a centralised Foodstuffs point of sale system. It was probably easier to deploy Club+ across all brands rather than pick and choose.

I don't know if they are doing it, but with reciept printers you can load logos to them and its printed with a single command. this is from the days of slow links to the computers so they were not sending the same data all the times. The text is also rendered in the printer it self. I think most barcodes are generated in the printer too. That's why they all use the same ugly fixed spacing font. They all use the commands from some antique epson printer. If you move a printer from one store to another and forget to reflash the logos, then this happens.

yes it is usually the same or little more. But Waitomo you get to spin for a discount as well which can occasionally give you a bit of an extra discount of your next fill.
