Presumably if there’s more than one person in a household, you might as well all use the same card barcode. That way, any fuel discount attached to the card can be used by anyone in the household.
Any downside to doing this?
Depends on if the points matter, If you are regular and convert to airpoints, you might want to supplement your own rather than someone elses.
But if you are just ensuring discounts are applied and gas vouchers. Nope. Have at it (although the T&C probably say 1 per person. More data=value to them)

Yep. And 'swipe first to show discounts' (naturally...). Which it somewhat always was. But there may now be new NW shoppers who expect it to have ESP and not data first, info later mindset.
At least Woolworths got that right and puts the total on the screen should you wish to chose to redeem points etc.
Unlike the rest of the self checkout logic. Auto pilot - get things, wait to say no receipt. Walk off. But one simple logic fail when you get cash out, giving it comes AFTER asking if you want a receipt. How about keeping receipt as the last step!
I've walked off forgetting I even requested $$ seconds before a number of times (goldfish). But would realise if it spat it out as soon as it was processed THEN asked if you wanted proof.
Thankfully staff monitoring were onto it and printed last purchase copy and was able to go back and retrieve. (But told otherwise on the phone...)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person to do that!

Since many specials seem to be the same between P&S and NW, that makes NW work out the better place for a lot of things.
I have found quite the opposite in Masterton - the app shows offers at both supermarkets obviously and allows me to compare directly as I tend to shop for the same things each week so they come up as Offers at both. In just four items, New World were $5.49 more expensive than P'n'S. So can't really see what you are stating.
New World are handy for some specific items but the Club+ has shown me so far that I am far better just limiting my New World shop to those rather than getting everything from New World cause it's easier to just do one shop. With the price of stuff I will definitely split my weekly shop.

I wonder if we will start to see targeted specials to some people, and to try and get people to shop at NW to get them into the store. eg if they have the same price at NZ, on some things when on special, it could make more people shop there to collect points etc.
I think the grocer app and other similar apps are the best way to check which stores have the best prices.

Given the attention on the Duopoly and the general perception that Supermarkets are only one step removed from pond scum,
I think offering specific discounts to a small subset of people and not to others would go down like a brick and likely have newspapers and politicians all over it...
Oblivian:
wait to say no receipt.
People actually do that?!?!?!
I for one look at the eftpos machine, see the word Accepted, walk off.

The other logic fail. Believe the default is print it if not selected.. staff spend half day removing em
Not any more, apparently. The staff at my local NW have advised that you can walk away as soon as it says Accepted.

Possibly. However I detailed it and was talking woolies.

Thing is, at least where I saw that hastily added paper "Press Pay" sign in Wigram a few days ago, that after you swipe your Club+ card, it still shows "Discount: $0" or words to that effect at the top right where it also shows your NW$ balance (correctly).
It's not until you indeed press Pay that it calculates discounts now.
Previously, they would calculate on the fly.
I assume they will fix it.

Where's a facepalm emoji when you need one.

It only took them about 18 months to fix, the amount of paper waste every week must have been huge,
I put it at 17 years, but sure.
