Warning Facebook link but a good video on how foodstuffs has been tracking you for years and lines up with the new offers showing in the club+ app for paknsave, even though I’ve not scanned at paknsave yet.

On the matter of fuel -

Went to P & S Petone the other day, then across to their fuel pumps (yes, was the best price at the pump for surrounding 30km).

Got a bit confused when system asked for card, pump number, amount of fuel, and then to OK payment. Hang on, where's the discount bit? Two ladies also at the pumps had paper dockets and could not scan them, so one of them called the help number. A guy from P & S came over and explained that the card had taken over, and the discount was now applied right at the end of the transaction.

I confirmed that my Club+ card would be scanned at that point, so tried again .... got all the way through but card would not scan, in fact could not find anywhere to scan it ... no blinking red light or anything like that, so took the manual number option. Typed in card number and all was then OK.

No idea about the two ladies as they had gone by now. Ironically, my daughter said her local (UH) pump scanned her phone App no problems.

Distinct lack of instructions or guide pictures on the pumps themselves!!!!

I'm really quite annoyed about this Club+ change. Getting it into your google wallet is impossible, it tries to add something else entirely, "Kevinkwon test something... " Noped out of that pretty quick. I have the app now, but I didn't WANT another app.

Web portal has circles to nowhere. Did they do any UAT? With actually people users?

All you need is the barcode, if you don't have the physical card with barcode on it, you can create one, login to your club+ account and go to personal details https://www.clubplus.co.nz/my-account/personal-details

the card number is at the top of the page, copy it, paste the nuymber into a code-128 generator such as https://orcascan.com/tools/code-128-generator and remove all the spaces so it's just a continuous number.

Now you can print it, or screenshot it, or load it as a photo into google wallet, or make it into a sticker on the back of your phone...

If you have an existing 'new world' entry. Remove it. Add another new world one, scan barcode or use number. It creates new code128 with new world branding. Just remember to use that at all.

Supercards for Android has updated. Database now includes separate Club+ branding option.

Thought by scanning the card at paknsave it might save your order receipt to view on the app/website like it does for New World. But it doesn't, absolutely no point in scanning at paknsave then, when they already no the credit card I'm using is linked to my club+ account.

My couple of grumbles:

In New World now, a lot of the prices are Club+prices, but with a tiny bit of text on the electronic price tag to show is a promo only for Club+. Previously with the NW rewards card, the promos were approx 50% general promo and 50% clubcard, with a big label to show was clubcard. Useful when doing a quick shop without card or phone on me.

Also tried to login to the app to show my barcode (hadn't saved a screenshot of barcode yet) - funny thing that the New Rold in-store wifi seemed to block being able to loging to Club+ app. Also should be able to open the app without data just to get the barcode.
