Mrsd411:

Did anyone else still awaiting to be assigned a case officer receive an email from DIA stating the delays to citizenship applications?  In that email they claim they are working on October online submissions and yet as we can see the case above submitted his at the end of November 2020 and been approved.

So many different months being stated, don't know what to think.

We applied January 2021.

Yes, I did receive the email last week.

There are some good questions raised in the below link, but not answered yet.

https://fyi.org.nz/request/16426-citizenship-application-crisis?nocache=outgoing-28974#outgoing-28974

I'm following a few on there to see the outcomes. 😊

Anyone else got any replies on their Citizenship? My wife and I applied on the first week of Jan 2021 and have yet to hear anything except the standard DIA email which came last week saying that they were processing October 2020 applications now and there is a delay in processing.

I applied on 10th December 2020, got an email to confirm my details on 20th October 2021. So, you might receive an email around November 2nd week.

That's great news , that's mean they start working on December application and soon, I think December applications number lower than other months , so maybe they can move January application quickly

By the way, which part of the country you at? I heard that Auckland processing is slower than at Wellington due to the lockdowns.

We applied online and we are in Auckland.

We applied first week in January 2021 too.  We've heard nothing yet but will post here when I have contact from a case officer.

Not citizenship but one of my staff was on a student visa, applied for a work visa, the student visa expired in the meantime and instead of extending his student visa by a fortnight allowing him to keep working 20 hours a week, have put him on an interim visa. It was lodged on the 5th, picked up on the 14th and still no word, it's really hurting us.

So sorry to hear that. Hopefully you hear something soon. Just wondering if anybody else had had anything today.

Once assigned to a case officer? How long does it take before getting a confirmation of approval?
Also, just wondering if any other December applicants have heard anything?

I posted recently but for me it was 2 weeks from first contact to approval. I was then advised it could take 5 weeks to hear from the ceremony team. They emailed next day. I was then given a ceremony date of 2 weeks later, Nov 1st, but obviously won't happen so on Nov 1st I become a citizen and they pop certificate in post. Seems quick once they are in touch. Our original application was Nov 30th 2020. Heard early Oct 2021.
