Cool nice one. Yeah since I like smacking my kids around as it's my god given right ya know (sarcasm).  She may be a complete nutter, but at least she actually cares about the fact that NZ has one of the highest rates of child abuse in the OECD and something really needs to be done about it.

Repealing Section 59 aka the "Legalise Child Abuse Law" was a good thing.  Good for children, good for NZ in general and if it helps to reduce the shocking rates of abuse we have in NZ then all the better.  Those even more crazy religions nutjobs from Family First aka the "It's Gods wills that I smack you mr 3 year old" are just creepy... Anyone failing to see that is missing the whole point.

Anyone who equates smacking your child with child abuse is just as much a nutter as she is. People who are going to abuse their children will do so whether or not smacking is legal.

So So true. Seen the latest stats? WORSE than before the bill was repealed. Not 1 kid has been saved this way!

Reduce the amount of state funded alcohol purchased would be a big step towards reducing child abuse......

Surely if banning alcohol is going to work then banning crime, heartbreak, teenage pregnancy, road tolls etc.... would get right to the root of the issues?

After all banning drugs has been a ripper of a success.

Edit: Sorry OP I tried to stay on topic Embarassed

All I was trying to do was introduce a nice little thread in which you can arrange for a giant robot to blow up a nominated house/building/dwelling.

Possible targets: ex-wives/girlfriends, mates, non-mates, persons of interest in the media, a##holes.

Please, stay on topic and blow something up!!?!

Get her to invite the lady from the big save ad and the person who does the voice for harvey norman over first.

And for good measure, invite the Countdown guy too...

This house down the road will have to be my choice. They have a child, who has to be no older than 4, who will not stop screaming on Sundays while we're trying to sleep.

Err no, that is treating SYMPTOMS, if you treat the cause it's a much better idea.

Also if our drug laws weren't such a joke our drug war would be more effective. I say lets implement Singapore laws or perhaps have 1st offenders spend 2 weeks in a Thai Prison, second time offenders 3 months in a Thai Prison, and I would almost guarantee no third offences.

Along with that, let's put a sterilizing agent in the water, and make potential parents prove worthiness to raise children before giving them a 6 month antidote.
