Lambchop: NFC ?
really hoping telecom/voda/2d all start offering up sim cards with nfc tech built in ...some euro telco's are doing so... otherwise it'll take forever to catch on.
sbiddle:True, but without Apple on board (and they're not unless they can find a way to take a cut of every transaction, they've made that pretty clear through their seeming inaction while still working on some kind of iTunes payment platform) we've still got an absolutely behemoth number of smart phones that just won't work with NFC, without it being on the SIM. At the moment, a very small number of phones support it, so SIM based looks to be the way to go right now.Lambchop: NFC ?

SIM cards don't need NFC. The solution going forward is NFC in the phone, the SIM card simply acts as the secure element which is required for transaction security.
