So they crawled under the sensors. What type of sensors are these ? And how did they know to crawl to avoid them ?

wmoore: Yes good question, we have adjusted them and tested them today. They were not pointing in the right direction (Hindsight is 20/20) and now alarm goes off fairly immediately. Bars seem quite expensive but I think we will need to find something.

I like the security partitions that let you climb up to the roof, pop the ceiling tiles, crawl over the next ceiling tile, pop that, then drop down inside..
I install commercial security for a living and I can't count the number of times this gets overlooked. People just don't think that you can just pop up the tiles.
To the OP, they crawled under your sensors = get a new security company that installs sensors that are up to the job, and perhaps sue the company that installed your alarm system in the first place. Find out if they are an NZSA accredited and if they are, report it to them.

This will probably trigger an audit for them and if they are doing sub-standard work, they will be found out, and kicked out.
If they aren't NZSA members, then use a company that is!
networkn: Alarm was installed prior to my arrival so it wasn't something I could sue someone for at this stage sadly, I am also not certain who installed it.
I wondering if someone was casing out your business weeks prior to the break in ? Any suspicious activity ? Also people forget about the alarms when they move offices around add or take away partitions etc. which means some parts may not be covered at all.

If I remember correctly, if its not stated in your lease then it is your responsibility to replace/repair anything that is damaged.
