Good thread. I'm heading down to Wellington on the 9th for a long weekend so I'll be able to check out some of these.

Potentially inflammatory question: Where do I find the best coffee in Wellington?

There are coffee places almost every 3rd store in Wellington, so I think they are all as good as one another. Somewhere down Cuba street perhaps which is a more laid back/alternative area.

I am looking for family oriented things to do in Wellington and I noticed BrentR mentioned the Weta Cave. That sounds kind of interesting. Is it just a shop with some displays, or can you actually see where and how Weta does its creating as well?

Edit: Never mind, found the answer to my question on their website. Still interested in feedback from anyone who has visited though.
