OK in their email to me they stated pickup was in "Kati" which I am assuming they meant Katikati.

As per earlier in the thread they stated pickup for an iphone was in ngtea, once again I assume they mean Ngatea.

I have now had a response for the camera stating pickup is in Waihi/Tauranga.

Sounds like they have offices all over eastern hawkes bay area!

Wow what do you know, I just purchased their Canon EOS 5D and they have listed another one immediately. How many $2.5K cameras do they have for the bargain price of $470?

What happens when an auction with a question mark is reported on trade me? I recall they request the seller to take a photo of the product with the local paper of the day. So that is perhaps what is needed in this case.

Anyone near to Manurewa?

The seller has offered to meet around 12:30ish to deliver the camera. It woul dbe interesting to go through with the deal to see if they front up with genuine goods, i can drop the cash into someone's account if they are willing to meet them.

Probably someone that has handled a DSLR before would be ideal.

Really?? Named after his child..

i am running my own bussiness, like i have stated. i buy products in bulk at a discounted price. then i list them on her and make my money back and also offer great discounts to costumers. by the end of the week my web page should be in full working order, and in 6months i should have my own electrical shop opened named after my child.

How can someone sell something in an auction and after the auction closes say the price is going up? That's just not an auction at all.

It sounds dodgy. Probably one of those "iPhone" with dual SIM slots, TV receiver and Java pre-installed.

He said he "was preparing for his children's future"... how can you do that if the prices you're selling them at are way below RRP? That is, unless, it's a bogus product!

The silly thing is he has answered a question about the Canon Eos camera stating it is actually a Mark I but the picture is blury and makes it look like it states Mark II.

You can clearly see it says Mark II.

There was never a Mark I, it was just called the Canon Eos 5D and had no writing on the box at all about what "Mark" it was.

It just got even better when asked how he is selling products at such low prices:

"because i like to get customers and keep them not like electrical shops were they over charge on items and you basicly pay for packageing. these are only cheap for a Limited time. not everyone out there is money hungry some people prefer to give rather then recieve. and i am a giver not a taker. i kno what it is like to want something but not afford it. hense why when i got my inheritance i am putting it to Good use, if you dont like find another seller"

The man is a saint!

and then he talks about setting up his children for their future.. well I'm sorry but you can't do that if you're going to "give away" the products...basically.

I'm not even going to bother, I asked him/her to send through a pic of the camera with todays date on a piece of paper next to it. They said they would do it soon, this was over an hour and a half ago.

Given the comments since then about which model it is it is clearly a scam.

I liked the way you got him onside by criticising his spelling and grammar but deliberately misspelling grammer yourself ;)
