dclegg: I've been musing whether a move to a more t-shirt friendly belt may be a possible solution (my belt has a few decorative sharp bits on it).

• I don't have bugs in my belly button that I know of.  Is this even possible?
• I have no scratching disorder :)
• I have an inney BB
• My belt doesn't seem to have any sharp parts on it so I didn't consider it the cause
• One theory was the washing machine (I don't try these t-shirts in the dryer), but the washing machine wouldn't put holes in one place only.  They'd be randomly all over the place.
• I certainly do not tuck my t-shirts in!!!
• I don't use clothes pegs
• Hmm, beer belly rubbing on my desk.  I do have a little extra bulk in my gut area (temporary of course) and that could be a plausible answer.  But none of my business shirts have said holes.
• Maybe it is my belt buckle?
• Running with scissors is dangerous!  And fun.
• Whenever I'm folding my washing (my better half does the washing and I fold it) and I'm missing a sock, I call "sock down!"
• I also long suspected a seat belt being the culprit.  But I don't believe I spend long enough in a car for the issue to become so widespread amongst my t-shirts.
• Asmodeus - you explanation is plausible too but is annoying because there is no easy solution.  I'm never going to tuck my t-shirts in!!!
• I mainly drink wine and bourbon so don't often open beer bottle caps of the like.
• The kitchen benchtop theory is similar to the desk theory thereby also making it plausible.

maslink: All that navel lint has to come from somewhere. Occam's Razor would suggest that the material closest to the belly button is most likely to be the source :-)
