I was expecting a delivery via TNT at home in Hastings yesterday, but unfortunately no one was home.  I was keeping a tab on its progress via their tracking.  Mine was from Apple as well.  No card to collect was left, so after reading this I rang them up and tried to get it redirected, but have found out it was left at an agent to collect (told they should have left a card to collect!).

Will go and get it today!

Where do you live? (Central city?)
What is your apartment complex like?

I would also recommend putting pressure on the original sender, i would have contacted them after a while to make sure they know just how bad your experience was with there courier company

I have to deal with couriers daily and can say that sometimes you got to go as high as you can with your complaints, i make sure i have numbers and names for the account managers as they nare the ones who get things done for me when it goes sour

I'm going to noob myself past judgement

The saga continues. Apple dealt with TNT and scheduled a pickup this morning (before 12)

I am not surprised that I have not heard a beep from TNT.

Mule, its too bad that one has to be on their neck to even get any information about the package, let alone actually get it.

I live in Ahuriri, and the apartment complex is gated - so have to get in touch via phone to get me to come out and meet them.

Has worked great with all other deliveries I have had here, but TNT seems unable to deal with it.

Been doing that. Will be interesting to see what happens next now. Apple was in contact with TNT to get them to collect the package today (this was a product replacement), and was promised they would pick up between 8 and 12 today. That did not happen, and I have not heard anything from TNT.

I know people in the TNT system in Norway, so I am trying to get a hold of the customer service manager for TNT in New Zealand. Will be interesting to hear what he has to say about the whole matter.

Welcome to NZ Jarle.

Not that it really matters (English being so forgiving and all) but a couple of corrections to help you blend in.

Thanks, I will make sure Apple will be on their back so that I can actually hear a peep from TNT.

Same driver, same problem today. He meets up and seems to be as surprised today as he has been the other times that the gate is closed and that there is nobody at the reception/front office. And then leaves, to then be called back here by customer support.

So the morning pickup turned into an afternoon pickup. And it was almost like I was torturing him to get him to sign for getting the return package.

Soooo not impressed.

It is not just TNT, threads about dreadful couriers crop up here every few weeks.

There is a simple solution to this problem, at least in Auckland and I suspect other urban centres. I rent a mailbox from a private company in Newmarket. All of my post goes there. Every courier driver in Auckland knows it because most of them go there on a regular basis. They know when the place will be open and they know that they just have to turn up, park right outside and carry the parcels into the shop. It works perfectly, no missed deliveries, ever.

I do not know if they can handle pickups but that is not an issue for me.

Of course, I have to pay for it but with the volumes that I get, it works out at around 50 cents per item. Considering the cost in terms of time and phone calls for missed deliveries, that is a huge saving over not using their service.

Got my phone with TNT today. Went as it should. With the dispatch calling me up and letting me know when to expect the package and also letting me know when the driver was a couple of minutes away.

So no trouble this time.

Here is hoping it will stay this way. Will warn them next time a package is underway (like I did on this one).
