sbiddle: That Ookla data is complete and utter rubbish. It doesn't represent true real world results and is skewed as others have pointed out by LTE results.

Having said that NZ does have 2 of the best LTE networks in the world. Try getting over 100Mbps in the USA..

Of course population would have nothing to do with this equation.

How Ookla calculates no,

How it affects us.. Yes. It would cost 10 fold if not more per consumer for Vodafone's LTE network Vs america its a small proportion of that.

My 4G Mobile Speedtest - Could only afford to do one test lol I only get 500MB on my plan. It took like somewhere between 100 and 200MB to do that speedtest lol

You would think the faster medium would have more generous data caps -_-

"would have more generous data caps"

How will you get your maximum throughput over a 5MB file, When it doesnt have time to ramp up? By the time it gets to finished it would have got maybe 15-30Mbp/s

5MB as an example, Its situation, Speedtest doesnt always just go BAM 100MB file. Go hard and download!! It may do a 65MB file, ETC..

No matter what speed you have it usually tests for a similar amount of time. Therefore faster connections will rip through more data in that time. For example if you managed to get on speedtest.net with dialup and ran a test you'd only use a few KB.

I have 3.5GB of data on my $89 a month VF plan. Seems reasonable to me.

I have prepay 4G on Vodafone. Costs me $19 a month for 500 MB and some text and call minutes + $10 if I need another 500 MB (Which would put me at your 1 GB). (Doubt you have 1 Gbit data a month, sounds a bit low). ;)
