SandyJ: Two? .. we only use one for the whole house. Set it in the lounge and leave the internal doors open at night and that should be enough. Whatever you do dont leave it going in a closed room.. it will end up making everything damp and activating allergies. Two may give you too much humidity so be careful.. especially in NZ. :)
Once a month it pays to fill the water chamber with water and add a cup of white vinegar. Run it for an 10 mins (do this outside) then just rinse out the chamber. White vinegar is an awesome disinfectant and is 100% safe to use in the machine.
Do you have a slow cooker? Fill it full of water and turn it to the lowest setting.. leave the lid off of course. Instant redneck humidifier. LOL
