Power was up and down this morning - joys of living rural, especially when the water pump goes off-line in the middle of a shower :-(. Just enough pressure remaining in the pump pressure system to rinse off ...

Unplugged all the Home Entertainment and computer gear  - all that power up n down would be causing havoc to the various HDD's and PSU's etc, especially the quick jolt the power companies auto=recovery system apply to clear / test power lines before re-applying power ..

I'm way south of Auckland (Palmerston North here), but the weather here is also nasty. It's an indoors day for me.

Poured down last night! First decent rain in months.
Mostly blown over by this morning, wind's gone offshore, huge gnarly waves.
Some trees down, wireless nation's Internet's been off all day ( fault at their Auckland gateway they say).
Power's off, Gen says it's been running 2.5 hours.
RBI tower's still standing - must get @coffeebaron's crew to connect us up..

Tree across the road on the way home from work yesterday, thankfully only blocking one lane (no other entrance to my street). Meanwhile, Internet's been down for the past three hours; looks like the local cabinet is dead - at least that's my guess; Chorus could do with having a network status page!
