Self employed contractor working from home. I used to be really bad at taking lunch breaks, and instead would eat at my desk. However, I now break at around 12PM (as dictated by my hunger) for 30 minutes.

About 11:15am is when I eat my lunch  (breakfast is at about 5 so pretty hungry by then).  I normally take a break to do a couple of crosswords in the DomPost.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Whenever I can manage it - usually sometime between 12pm and 2pm. Sometimes as late as 3pm. I rarely manage a break of more than 20-30mins.

I find it amusing how those who said they are too busy (and important perhaps?) to have a lunch break mostly managed to reply to this thread during office work hours, some within minutes of this thread being started!  Perhaps you should count your Geekzone time as a lunch break too.... ;-)

My lunch break is mostly determined by my stomach vs whatever meetings I might have on the day.  Mostly I break at midday though as my stomach seems to be well trained.

Somewhere around 12-1 is when it starts and I have had to force myself to be better at taking them. I only get a half hour break, but didn't used to take it and would just work through and eat at my desk. Try to go for a walk or something so I am not at my desksmile

I alternate my start time each week due to the helpdesk time table

7.30am start - 12pm lunch for 1 hour
9.30am start - 1pm lunch for 1 hour

I always head away (out of the office) for an hour normally to just walk
Actual lunch eating is normally at my desk after I get back

Way back when I worked a normal schedule I really didn't have a lunch break but rather a working lunch - eating whilst doing some computer work (stock entry, ordering etc) so it could be anywhere between 11:30 to 14:30. I guess it depends on the industry but I'd hazard to guess that the idea of having a dedicated time allotted for lunch is a relic of a bygone era.

timmmay: I'm not really talking about allocated spots, more when is considered normal.

At my work, official lunch times are either 12-1 or 1-2. I'm not in the kind of job where I need to be at my desk at certain times, so I take my lunch when I feel like and that's usually after 2pm sometime, people comment that I have lunch late. Well, I guess so, but then I eat dinner late probably in their opinion. I think anything between 12 and 2 is pretty "normal".
