KiwiNZ:

Not as annoying as the way Americans pronounce basil or oregano

I have a CD around here somewhere by a band called 'Cartoon' that includes such gems as 'Cow', 'Bendy Wendy The Man' and most importantly 'Oriface', with the chorus 'I like the way the Americans say/I like the way they say orifice'.

...Yeah, it's a pretty weird album.

Really? That annoys you? I quite like it. That, and 'erbs. So fancy sounding!

What about the American import in sports where a lot of people in NZ now say 'dee-fence'? I prefer the good ol' d'fence, with the soft first syllable.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

We have a in-house system called "Land Resources" that is routinuely pronounced "ree-sources"*... whereas the separate "Resource Manager" is "res-ource" *headdesk*

*I'm guessing that this is an artefact of the original developer saying ree-sources but it's just that; a guess.
