Personally I think all the manual devices are too hard to use. I count amongst them manual pasta makers and manual sausage makers.

My wife uses one of these

It makes the job very easy plus not only do you grind and mix your own meat, then you stuff the sausages in the same appliance.

I hasten to add, she hasn't made sausages in ages :-(  But she does mince her own meat.

Really? I don't find it that hard to crank the handle, I prefer the "connection" I feel directly to the meat I'm grinding.
