I've been YouTubing a whole lot on this. It seems like quite a complicated hobby. I've been trying to find anything I can use to grow a Kauri tree on the internet. My knowledge hits a wall after a very short period when it comes to the outdoors and gardening. I know grass is green, that's about it. Even then, I have to rely on other people's testimony because I'm colour blind!
I'm not off to a great start on my Kauri adventure. Tall Kauri trees are hundreds of years old. I don't have that long!
Darn it! My man is right into bonsai (and was behind the Internet Bonsai club site for many years). We had to get rid of his plants in preparation for our move. Most were just thrown out due to lack of interest when we tried to sell and give away. The local bonsai club couldn't be bothered letting members know there were plants and pots available, so loads of pots were also thrown out.
I have two pots left that I intend to put on TradeMe- one from a renowned American bonsai pot artist, the other just a nice pot we brought in from the USA. I'll grab photos and measurements over the next few days and post details inn the FS section here in case you are interested.
I agree with creating your own. Not only can you get much better plants but its also far more rewarding than just growing on someone elses creation.
