KiwiNZ: We do not have the military resources or man power to go to both Iraq and Nigeria

I suppose I could say that the British might have quashed this if the Empire was still alive and well in Africa.

Sadly everyone decided letting the lunatics run the asylum would somehow be better.....

The foundations of a lot of these issues are a legacy of European colonial policy

Possibly, although a lot of it in Africa stems from inter-tribal issues that were going on before the European man arrived and continued after he left.

My mother used to live in Northern Rhodesia and will tell you tales that would make your hair curl about what went on amongst the tribes.

MileHighKiwi: Touche.

It is ironic that ISIS get most of the media attention. I guess a difference is that ISIS have blatantly waged war on the west, recruit westerners and want to take the war to places like Europe, Australia etc...

I'm not sure of Boko Haram have the same intentions or if they are an isolated African problem.

Both should be stopped.

Stopped??

Eliminated off the face of the earth, more like.

hmm this thread has made me think - if ever there was going to be the end of the world through anarchy ... could be these few years if these mad people infiltrate the rest of the world and can't be stopped.

key word: be stopped

NZ cannot stop them! if the entire nation landed in north Africa we are already outnumbered.
