I suppose I could say that the British might have quashed this if the Empire was still alive and well in Africa.
Sadly everyone decided letting the lunatics run the asylum would somehow be better.....
The foundations of a lot of these issues are a legacy of European colonial policy
Possibly, although a lot of it in Africa stems from inter-tribal issues that were going on before the European man arrived and continued after he left.
My mother used to live in Northern Rhodesia and will tell you tales that would make your hair curl about what went on amongst the tribes.
