Isn't 'fluffer' a job in the porn film industry?
floydbloke: ...and today's front-page news......
.....someone has lost a cat
Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Phew, I can get some sleep now!!
tdgeek: [snip] And I wonder how much of both articles was factual, and how much focussed on a noisy few people who were quoted word for word in order to be breaking news. Cat stories preferred, thanks

It's actually worse than that... The media in general and particularly Stuff it seems, quote people word for word because it lets them publish known wrong, misleading or sensational information without having to apply an editorial or journalistic filter to it...
An upset passenger on a flight says the words "The cabin crew literally spat on my babys head!" and wahoo.... Headline written!
"It was the worst storm EVER SEEN here in Tinytown" Bang! Another headline.
In neither case do the headlines need to be accurate or even fact checked because the 'news site' was only reporting what the witnesses said.
And we, as the public (in general, not me!) lap this up and encourage them to do more of this.
Cheers - N

wasabi2k: on the plus side - it's nice that national news is a missing cat, not mass murders.
WyleECoyoteNZ: I saw this story on Stuff on Wednesday, and this story was the cover story on the Dominion Post on Thursday

Sounds good?
But, it's all speculation.
The club itself had released a Press release late Wednesday stating the license reports are premature
