What annoys me is places that do the offers at the buy now price. If I was prepared to pay that before, I would have pressed buy now.

the biggest issue I have had on there is places that are listed as "in trade" so you expect a level of service, but its really just a guy in their garage importing and selling stuff.

RUKI:

Advice to sellers:
- Do not list with "buy now" option - as a protective mechanism for yourself - to be able check buyer's credentials and remove their bid if they have negative feedbacks;
- Always do start = reserve - otherwise buyer will find alternative and may never come back to you again;
- Blacklist is a good mechanism to filter those with tons of negative feedback and stalkers who never buy but always present as watchers;
- Do not waste time on "offers" as many bargain seekers expect excactly that. If you put start = reserve - you have indicated what the price is, no bid - no offer. Trademe has mechanism to assist buyer to ask for an offer - if they did not use it - they did not need your stuff.

Advice to buyers:
- Do not expect seller to be 24x7 online to answer your emails or online qustions - although responce in 24 hours I consider to be appropriate;
- Iif you ask seller to do "buy now" just because you are planning a vacation and only be able to pick up a week later - be honest with the seller about that,
- Realise that seller's account may go into debt just because you clicked "buy now" and you did not pay in two days or in a week or perhaps will not pay at all - seller may not have money or incentive to replenish their account;
- Think before putting negative feedback - in too many cases it is two way street...

+1 That's good advice.

TonganDlux, if you are unsure about a "deal" on Trade Me then you could ask for opinions here.

Couple of examples.  I had a basketball hoop affixed to the side of my house (was there when I bought it).  I put it on Trade me for 99c on condition that the purchaser came and took it down themselves.  All I really wanted was someone to take it down for me!  Was pleased to get $7 and a nice man who turned up with tools and carefully removed it from the wall.  Great result.  My mum had an old mattress she wanted to get rid of.  I put it on Trade me for 99c on condition that it was collected.  Sold it to a guy who handed me $2 because he didn't have any change, and he took the mattress away for her.

Do anyone of you guys mind if you can question this guy. I don't have a trade me account yet.

Question:
Do you have a contact email?
What are the system full specs especially gpu and cpu.

Thanks much appreciated!

Trade Me don't allow contact details until you win an auction. I haven't dealt with that trader but he has sold a $1400 computer recently.

If you want full specs for each component then you usually have to find them yourself. He's provided the specs for the box he's selling so I haven't passed on that question:
CPU: A8-7600 at CPU-World or AMD or game-debate which says, harking back to your laptop thread, it can run Battlefield 4 on high settings
GPU: integrated Radeon R7 7600 at game-debate which says it can run Battelfield 4 on low-med at FullHD but is better at HD resolution where it can run med-high settings

AMD recommend the Radeon™ R7 240 as a paired card: comparison

So you cant just ask the seller for contact email or something?

Well thanks for that anyway for doing all that research! I truly appreciate it!

You can ask but it is against Trade Me rules - I don't try to break them but you're welcome to join and ask whatever you like. That rule in part ensures fairer auctions but mainly prevents sellers from avoiding paying fees to Trade Me for a successful sale.

I should have added that the motherboard specs seem pretty good for a cheap system. The AMD Dual Graphics and Crossfire support gives you good options for improving the graphics. It has eight SATA 6Gb/s connections which would make it a useful NAS/file server. The main issue is most likely to be cooling the combined 4-core CPU and 6-core GPU because it is all in one chip.

PS There's no OS so you'd have to add in that cost.

Here is another advice: never do like that lady did - listing it "free to collect":

she said it is free listing # 930391765 under assumption perhaps that it will be sold for a dollar.
That auction could've gone easily for hundreds if not thousands.
But from Trademe perspective success fees are mandatory - hence she still owes Trademe % from $191 winning bid.
I wanted that for spare parts but did not bid against those folks who had gone crazy (as it is FREE) for a broken non-repairable Plasma
FYI - I am interested in any broken plasma - the bigger the better - i.e. 55 - 63" etc as those have some components I use in my projects.

I just wonder if the guy "dee1120" from Waitakere City who won that auction will at least compensate the lady success fees, not to mention paying her $191.

TonganDlux: Hello everyone!

Can I trust Trade me in general for good products? If you buy from one person of trade me with good products please inform me! Thanks

Now to my major question! Can I trust those $1.00 Deals with no reserve?
Please someone who has bought one and or has experience please inform me how this is possible and if I can trust them?

Thanks

TradeMe is only as trustworthy as the people who use it. You're relying on the seller to be as upfront and honest as they can be about the products or services they are selling.
I've had some great experiences with people on TradeMe who sent the items on time, the quality was excellent, and everything was just as they said it would be.

I've also had terrible experiences on TradeMe where either the buyer or seller takes ages to get in contact, or the item they were selling wasn't as good quality as what they said it was etc.

If you're thinking about buying from someone, check out their profile and see what kind of feedback they're getting. How long have they been on TradeMe? If you have any questions, you can always send the seller a message to ask for more information.

I hope this helps.
