Trademe actually does the same thing. I have often see the little donation button before checkout. Never bothered donating before though.

marlinz: My partner asks them to donate the profits from our purchase , you should see how that throws the checkout operators lol

I find the foodbank collection outside a bit off on that front, in that the store profits from your donation.

I'm happy to donate at a checkout for a charity I believe in.
Supermarkets allowing buskers to beg for change outside their doors... I go to another, nearby option.
It's funny what annoys me and what doesn't.

I don't mind if there's a collection bucket by the till, but I don't want to be asked if I'd like to add some extra to the bill.

I have never seen a busker begging. Perhaps my regular supermarket stops only allow high quality buskers.

There were a couple outside of a supermarket I went to during lunch... the guitar would be on their chair, not being played.
They stood there and asked for change. Probably needed a rest from playing, but not from taking cash?

Don't see an issue, quick question, no compulsion, no pressure. It is dammed hard for charities to raise the funds to bo their valuable work.
