I'm 21 and spend my Friday and Saturday nights watching Coronation Street with the boyfriend and mum. It's strangely addicting.
My other guilty pleasure is Keeping Up With The Kardashians (Don't shoot me) and Shortland Street.

My partner watches all of the gruesome dramas of people being tortured and killed, anything with blood and guts and then she wonders why she has nightmares...

If a TV program is rubbish I won't watch it, lifes to short for wasting time.

The Walking Dead. Very little seems to happen in each episode these days, and somehow the characters seem to get more one dimensional as it goes on. But... can't. stop. watching.

CYaBro:
Paul1977: Am I the only one who does this? I start watching a series that looks like it has potential, and even though it never pays off, I just keep watching because I kinda feel committed now.

Recent ones:

The Strain
Heroes Reborn
Extant
iZombie
Supergirl (this has only been 2 episodes, but is REALLY TERRIBLE).

I'll keep watching Heroes Reborn, I'm liking it so far.

Not sure why you have iZombie on the list of "terrible TV shows" as it has got great reviews, and it has a kiwi in the lead role! :)
I haven't seen it though so maybe it really is terrible??

iZombie nowhere near as bad as the others. It's probably more of a guilty pleasure, in that I know it's not very good, but for some reason I actually enjoy it.

The problem with Heroes Reborn is that, even if you buy into the premise, every single decision that every character makes is retarded. It's like the writers say "what is the dumbest thing that this character could possibly do?", and then just write that.

I'm not even close to enjoying it, but have to see how it ends.

Please.... kill me...

The Big Bang Theory and The Blacklist are two I should really just stop watching.

Do you get the memories and personality of a cow after you eat it?

Linuxluver: "Hart of Dixie"...to the bitter end. Still can't explain it.

My wife is (was?) an avid watcher of this programme, and while it was inane garbage, the eponymous character was its best feature...

In a similar vein, I admit to being an avid watcher of The Glimore Girls many years ago.

I certainly used to watch a lot more trash TV, despite my better judgement. This included two series of The GC - initially it was so bad it was good, but in the end it was just soooo bad it was bad. Now days, there's actually too much good TV out there to spend it on crap - we're still to watch the third season of Borgen, let alone start the new season of The Bridge, as well as all the good US stuff.

Interesting. I watched it despite finding Rachel Bilson intensely annoying. Every OTHER character was great. :-)

I liked iZombie, too. We just finished watching it a couple of nights ago.

Toward the end the writers made the characters do increasingly dumb stuff.....which tends to undermine my interest. But it was meant to be cartoonish....so they succeeded in that.

Not exactly, just some mild methane by-products flashback. laughing

Haven't had it in very long time.. and those things are probably not for daily consumption, being high in cholesterol and all, though nutritional value may vary if you are un-dead.

Supernatural. Largely because the car and the soundtrack are cool.

Got about 3 eps into Heroes Reborn and decided it was even less interesting than the final series of the original so have given up.

Watched the first ep of iZombie on Netflix the other day, didn't think much of it. Seems too similar a premise to that other show I couldn't stand mainly because the lead actress was so awful (ghost whisperer?).

There's enough quality shows around these days that I mostly try not to torture myself watching things out of some strange sense of loyalty :)

I used to watch those when I should have been doing uni work. Ironically GG is now getting cult status with the rise of netflix. Crap TV is good for background noise while working I find. My lastest is the Paul Henry TV show, I like listening to it. But it can be quite nasty.
