NZ Post prices will be going up around 10% in June/July ... you might want to take that into consideration.

Just got pinged for that: I wrote a letter to my Mum and stuck what had been sufficient airmail postage on it. When I got to the village, the lady told me it had gone up on 1 July and wanted another 40 cents!

There is usually a little bit of a grace period for a week or 2 after the price rise. You will get 'pinged' at the Post Office buying the stamp but if you have already posted it with a stamp with the old rate, it should be ok.

I think the "print postage online" option for sending parcels might be a touch cheaper than going into the post shop. Anyone know about that?

So true. Wife ordered some stuff from the UK and it was free delivery if order over around $220 equivalent. I've done that lots from the US too and even when you have to pay, it's often only $20 or so to get things from the US in a week. Also their tracking systems are so much more detailed and reliable.

I gave up selling on eBay - the requirement to have a tracked parcel means that everything had to go EMS (or EMS lite) which means postage costs were so high

Could not compete with HK sellers who offered free postage on Airmail or eParcels that come with tracking as standard
