Linuxluver:

Having followed the recent events at TV3 somewhat it looks like their hedge fund owners are doing to them what the hedge fund owners of Dick Smith did that company.

They do not know what business they are in....and it becomes more obvious every day.

I haven't had TV3's degraded version of news on for more than the two-three minutes it takes to get to the first trivial story near the top of the news bulletin.

Hedge fund managers are out for the quick buck by .financially manipulating the business. You know increase ROI by using reality tv, overseas content etc, borrow massively then pay out a dividend to recovery the initial investment. These are finance gurus not business and industry gurus. Shareholder return baby.

I have a masters degree in finance.

I'm in that age range and didn't even bother to connect the aerial when I moved two years ago. It's still disconnected today.

Apart from watching the All Blacks, I see no value in having TV reception at home.

Wouldn't mind a TV with no tuner, surely would be cheaper to buy.

Is there a good radio news bulletin around 6:00pm ? Not just snippets, but reasonably in depth for 30 mins or so.

Passes the time when I am in traffic.

Currently listen to newshub simulcast on 100.6, but it's kinda lame ...
