JayADee: I'm also pretty fussy about mugs and even bowls. :)
I agree, bowls can be variable. I definitely favour something I get used to. My wife, couldn't get less.
gzt: Ideally cups would have a special rating system to indicate how long they keep drinks hot in different temperature conditions. Too short fail, too long fail : ). Also there would be summer cups and winter cups. Technically they are all mini mugs rather than cups. ; ).
I once had a coffee mug, that had a hollow handle, dumb idea, ouch.
Geektastic: Making tea is primarily about the length of time you brew. 4 minutes usually works for me. On a proper timer not guessed!
You time it on a timer and then say it usually works for you. And when it doesn't, was the timer off?
I have a kettle that is programmable which is nice. Keeps the water at a specific temperature.

richms:Im more picky about plates. Can't stand ones that are all rim with a tiny food area in the middle like overpriced resturants use to make things look nice.
I'm picky about glasses. Dislike thick glass, not a fan of squared glasses. Have to have the right glass for beer and wines (although, I do quite enjoy a craft beer out of a decent red wine glass).
I like to keep to my favourite mug, too. And the breakfast bowl!
A psychologist would have a field day with us!!
Are you OK?
MikeB4:
That's brave, If I did that I think I would wear the coffee container, the cup and spoon and possibly the kitchen sink

I use my 20+ year old Caltex coffee club thermal mug ( the gray one with the red lid) best cup ever
