Friday-night comedy from BBC4, something called the Museum of Curiosity ... and it was rubbish.

Oh, how I long for the good old days when Sandy Toksvig hosted The News Quiz.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Can't recommend this social and political commentary podcast highly enough. Last week, there was a very interesting opinion piece on Brexit. The week before, an in-depth commentary observing an autopsy.

But for the geekzoners, check out The Satoshi Affair - 30 June 2016 "Andrew O'Hagan watches Craig Wright show Gavin Anderson, one of the most respected bitcoin developers, that he holds the Satoshi key.

Also, it's still on the website, from March 2014, this is a fascinating listen: Andrew O’Hagan spent six months with Julian Assange helping him write his autobiography, though in the event Assange didn’t want the book published. O’Hagan speaks about those six months for the first time.

That was a great listen. Thanks.

The History of Rome Podcast series by Mike Duncan. ITunes or episode 1 starting here .

179 quality episodes coming they founding of the Roman city to the 1000 AD. Broken up into nice  20-40 min chunks.

First came out in 2007 but well recommended if you haven't sampled it yet.

Black Sheep, I also listen to Hollywood Babble-on. I listen to other Smodco shows occasionally but I subscribe to Jay and Silent Bob get Old.

Other people have mentioned This American Life and Serial which are great. I also listen to The Beige Brigade podcast (NZ cricket) DC Rainmaker Podcast (sports tech) and also The Grey NATO (a watch, gear and adventure podcast).

I have listened to this History Of Rome podcast based on a recommendation a few years ago here on GZ.

Very enjoyable and entertaining.

Also the follow-on Revolutions Podcasts by the same author - British, American, French and currently the Haitian revolution -  I'm a few months behind in listening -  I binge listen :-)

As for other podcasts, of course NZ Tech Podcast.

And The Amp-Hour podcast - Discussions range from hobbyist electronics to the state of the electronics industry, components, circuit design, and general on and off-topic rants (Solar Roadways ?)
