I have this Uniden set. Comes with a charging cradle etc. Good fun with the kids, especially on family trips when using two cars. Never heard any other talk on them.

I have a pair of PRS handheld units with a charge cradle. The don't get much use and are (from memory) selectable between 0.5 watt or 2 watt output.

 

When we do use them they are handy. Also great fun and useful if we get separated walking in the Kapiti bush or similar.

 

EDIT: Also, I have never once encountered the issue with foul mouthed users that others refer to.
