rokki: Omg I have just realised the wife and I are attending the Adele Concert next March I will have to sell my iPhone 7 Plus it is clearly a lethal weapon. But seriously where are we going with this.

I'm really sorry to hear that! It's a shame about your phone, too, of course...! ;-)

Last one I saw (AC/DC in Wellington) you could get stoned from the clouds of cannabis smoke wafting around the stadium.

So illegal drugs are fine, water bottles not so much?

If I gave a toss about Coldplay this would annoy me. However after really enjoying their debut album I have liked every successive release less and less so have no interest in parting with my hard-earned cash to see these guys. Particularly after having already paid to see Simple Minds and Springsteen next year.

Anyway, these rules are nothing do with the band and everything to do with the venue/promoter.

I remember seeing The Police in Auckland in about 1981. I took in a whole camera bag with my trusty Pentax MX and backup Ricoh KR-5 Super body, a couple of lenses, and a great big flash. I stood right at the foot of the stage and shot off three or four rolls of 35mm film. Nobody cared.

Anyone want to fund a flyby so we can drop a bunch of balls onto the crowd? Its regulations like this that spark rebellion and INCREASE the danger.

It reminds me of one of the schools I was at.

They revamped the rules one hols when we were away and we came back to find one that read something like

"Pupils may not have firearms, air rifles, catapults or nuclear weapons etc on the school premises."

We held a school meeting and voted to amend the rule (which we could do) to permit nuclear weapons to be held by pupils, on the grounds that any pupil clever enough to secure the materials and build one was clearly responsible enough to be able to keep it.

At the venue now. Bought a mug from the merchandise stand just outside the entrance then the bag check guy didn't want to let it in. His supervisor had to tell him it's glass bottles and the official merchandise is ok. Understand he just thought he was doing his job and didn't want to get in trouble but highlights how ridiculous some of it is.
