It has a few quality settings.
It is adaptive based on your connection speed and type - for example, mobile they normally stream at 120kbit (CD Quality) but downloads and via PC on broadband you'll get 320kbit which is plenty fine.

You can adjust it manually for mobile networks. I have a large data cap so mine is set on highest. Never had it skip or lower quality.
I'm quite happy using Spotify.

Who says that? Seems absurd!
Its copyrighted material....you either need the discs or need proof of purchase. Makes sense to me.
I don't think proof of purchase counts for anything. When you buy a CD / DVD etc, the ownership of the disc itself is what grants you the right to access it's contents.
