Geekzone has become an important part of my life so I feel a need to explain. Unless an event is ever held in Hawke's Bay, which seems unlikely, I would have to travel to it. At my age I don't relish this. I also get very stressed in big city environments so usually go out of my way to avoid places like Wellington and Auckland. I go deaf in noisy settings and cannot follow or participate in conversations around a dinner table. I am socially awkward and feel uncomfortable in gatherings of more than three or four people unless I know everyone well. I can overcome all of these things if I have to, but they mean that I do not have a good time so I will probably not be attending any GZ events and to my great regret will never become 'trusted'. I hope everyone understands.

Any chance of making it on a Saturday instead of a Friday to minimise time spent fighting traffic? 😁 🍻 🚜

nate, a jester and a party clown all walk into a bar...

I could be keen. I haven't been to a Geekzone meetup/drinks for a number of years. We went to the Sale Street bar in Auckland back in.... I don't even remember when, which was pretty decent.
I can't remember what the prices were like, nor was it specifically a pizza place, but had a fair amount of space for everyone to sit (inside and out) which worked out pretty well.

Pizza night in Wellington? We could always go back to Wholly Bagels in Myrtle Street Lower Hutt. We've been there a couple of times in the past. Plenty of parking and no traffic issues.

+1 more for a Wellington function (pizza or otherwise).

I liked the Hop Garden Xmas function a couple of years back. A few of the gastropubs around do their own pizzas and they're set up for this type of function.

As somebody else suggested Heaven on Cuba Street might be a good pick as they do have beer too. It is a shame that we don't have anything as good as Tuihana Cafe in Wellington :)

I'm with Stu - or move it to the Shore :D (Sorry Stu)

I'd say have it at my place, but the numbers would be a tad overwhelming :D
