Ah, but that's not the issue. The question is: Have you ever *had* any taken?

Of course, if they've been taken without your knowledge, or you don't have a copy, then you're still screwed.

Maybe FB should apply their face-recognition technology to this, so you could ask that any photos with your face on them not be shared by your ex. Wouldn't help if you had particularly recognisable pink bits though. And lots of people who would recognise them.

But who hasn't done stupid things when young and silly and sure you were with "the one".

While you haven't done such a thing, what about your neice/nephrew, grandchildren etc.

This is the same kind of technology used by tineye.com, I guess, which can recognise cropped and otherwise edited versions of an image. e.g. searching for SaltyNZ's avatar finds 3734 variants.

I wonder how accurate the "digital footprint" is? i.e. if it's *really* accurate, then it could be used to regenerate something quite similar to the original.

It would be interesting what mine comes up as... It's a common picture, but mine was actually taken in my lounge, from a t-shirt.

I'm at an age where you'd only dare take such a photo in pitch blackness.
If my last girlfriend before my present wife of many decades wanted to post a revenge porn photo of me - I'd be bloody well thrilled.

This sums up the flaw with the 'I've got nothing to hide' argument. Just because YOU have nothing to hide, doesn't mean I or others don't.

They would have to be have been done by someone using concealed cameras. Rest assured no person has ever taken that kind of image of me with my knowledge. Fortunately, I grew up long before digital cameras were a twinkle in anyone's eye, so the sort of images teenagers apparently take and send to one another today would have had to go through the local chemist for processing and if there was ever a way to dampen someone's ardour, it is the thought of the minilab operators in Boots laughing at you nekkid.
