Another place to check out is El Humero, beer selection is limited but the food is up there.

Good place, I'm just not a fan of that people infested overpriced Ponsonby spec food alley way.

Are you talking Ponsonby Central? I really like that place, there are a fair number of pretty decent places to eat. The fish tacos at Burger Burger are to die for, El Sizzling is excellent, the turkish place is good as well. Some of the best pizza you can get is there as well.

Busy, yup.

Yeah, That alley way in taka takes that concept of ponsonby central down a tiny slither of alley way.

Good food in there too but you'll be paying for it and most likely eating at the park across the road on a Thursday/Friday.

I have tried burger burger (taka) twice and each time I was disappointed I didn't go to Burger Fuel. Also would have saved 20 mins waiting. Never tried Fish Fish but I am not a seafood fan at all, Brought up on infinite seafood and just can't stomach it anymore.

I had a family member work for Dante's Pizza in that Taka alley way and ponsonby, $30+ for a small pizza. Gourmet but you'd need two to fill yourself! Good pizza however..

The Merchant at Albany mall

This place has a really good atmosphere on a thursday / friday evening with all the other bars and restaurants around it packed as well.

There food is the higher side of good bar food and can definitely recommend their seafood platter

I don't drink but looking over the menu trying to help the missus decide on a cider there looked to be roughly a dozen different beer options
