IANAL but it sounds like the doctor did get clients to sign a waver and removed personally identifiable information. So that could be hard to pursue?

I wonder if they have accidentally misquoted the currency involved, and it is all in Vietnamese Dong?

I loved the bit about using several Cray supercomputers just for their firewall, the guy is a serious fantasist.  Quite sad that he seems to suck ostensibly intelligent people like a GP in

Natural stupidity can't be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Fantasist,  liar, or crook?

I've known people who can't stop lying. They almost believe their lies.

I checked his website, he also offers the fastest retail internet connection in the country....

https://terrible.ngo/nz/talk/

Stupidly Fast.
With up to 10 gigabits per second, do whatever you want, whenever you want. Download 4k movies in seconds, stream instantly.

Say goodbye to buffering.

Quite honestly, why doesn't the commerce commission police this stuff?

This guy reminds me so much of this guy

Obvious BS to those that understand the realities of such things, but he sucked in a large group people on other broadband forums (mostly in India) with his slick words.  In that case, people really wanted to believe that someone was going to bring amazingly fast yet cheap broadband to them.

Some people seem to have some sort of mental illness that causes them to really believe what they're saying.  I really believe mgcarley really thought he was going to do what he said he was.  I wonder if Zach's owners suffer the same problem, they really believe they can do this magical thing that no one else has cracked.

Small fry, the ComCom would get so many complaints and they only have so many resources to deal with them.

Thanks - I hadn't seen that thread it was a good giggle.  I guess the OP has disappeared into his fantasy world.

This is the no. 42 (yes, THE 42!) in the world (at this time) and it's not far away from me as the crow flies. With the PDF manuals provided I'm quite tempted to use it for my backup plan and for radius server. wink

$30M p.a. is a pretty poor ROI for $450M in assets. Presumably that will improve when Zach takes over running the "charity".

It isn't that bad. For example if you are renting out a house, the returns can be a lot lower. Although landlords also expect a good capital gain on the property over time, but that isn't always going to happen.

And... Unlocking this with some news...

1) The site (terrible.ngo) is mostly broken now. Many 404's, no reference to Zach at all.
2) They're terrible at renewing domains with terrible.org.nz now "Pending Release".

Looks like this is a terrible end...
