If I have to read stuff Im like so at slow typing as looking up all the time, but typing with the words in my head Im pretty ok for a non-touch.

You guys are really good >__<

Yeah you guys are pretty good.

I get 88 WPM and 99% Accuracy on my work PC (Cherry MX Blue keyboard). I suspect at home this may be a bit better as my keyboard at home is better also.

*Just FYI I know the Cherry MX Blue is loud - people are used to it around here and also, many have bought louder keyboards to compete with me (one of those people is my boss).

85wpm and 97% accuracy, but I have had a few beers tonight so I will try it again when I'm a bit sharper!

My original trade in the RNZAF was a communications operator. I only completed the first course which was intro into military communications and typing. We were taught on teleprinters down at Wigram airbase where your speed was measured in 'bauds'. Prior to changing trades to become an aircraft technician I was achieving around the 60 baud per minute which I believe is around 75 words per minute. Occasionally I was sent to Mangere Airport service hangers where the Orion's were serviced and the teleprinter there was a really old wooden box model and they maxed out at 50 bauds so occasionally I froze the darn thing. These days I can only clock up about half that speed. I am grateful the airforce taught how to type though.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

my son is scary , i do about 40 , he is up in the 90's and he can talk and look at you as he does it

Yeah pretty much the same here. Also 90% of my typing is writing code not words....

(PS: Yeah before you say it - no I don't document or comment my code. It was hard to write so it should be hard to understand and maintain :D :D ;D)

My SO used to be able to type at 120wpm, she also still uses shorthand to take notes in meetings etc. That's a useful tool - including for disrupting over the shoulder or upside-down reading nosy parkers, and some seem to find it a bit intimidating.
Me - I'm so hopeless I don't want to give myself any more of a complex about it than I already have - by taking the test.

44wpm 99%. BUT I need to look at the keyboard unless I want to make A LOT of mistakes, so since this test forces you to look at the screen it gives me a much lower score since I need to stop typing to look up.

I just did it again and got 101wpm at 99% accuracy.

I'm 40 years old, have been using computers since getting a Commodore 64 in 1986 and did typing at high school. Add 20 years of being a digital graphic designer and typing is just second nature to me.

And I'm by no means the fastest in my office either.

Not bad for someone with seven stubby fingers who physically cannot touch type.

I can usually do a bit better when I'm not trying to follow a script. Some of my errors where when I was adding a comma where I shouldn't, or start typing the wrong word etc.

And because I cannot touch type, I get all tangled up if I mess up my hand position...
