I've had positive experiences with AliExpress returns/refunds.

I ordered some 12V LED bulbs - with a B22 fitting. They came with E27 fittings. I opened a dispute, and sent the seller photos of the bulbs.

They said keep the bulbs, we are sending the correct one. They asked me not to place negative feedback, and to close the dispute. I said I would close the dispute and provide positive feedback once I had shipping confirmation. New bulbs arrived about a week later. Happy.

Another one - I ordered some vacuum seal bags - the order got cancelled, refund processed about 5 working days later. Not sure why the order was cancelled, but it looks like AliExpress did it, not the seller.

I have noticed on a few items, the seller saying that if negative feedback is posted before you have contacted them to resolve they will just wipe their hands of it and you will be stuck without resolution. Feedback is obviously really important to (most of) them.

Contact your credit card company ASAP so they're aware of the problem and can give you advice. Their advice will probably be to work through the Aliexpress disputes process, but at least the CC company will have a record of your problem. If it gets drawn out and you leave it too late to contact the CC company then they might turn around and say they can't help you because you didn't contact them within a certain timeframe.

3 kinds of aliexpress listings (any chinese goods website for that matter)

1. everything you read in the description is a lie

2. some things you read in the description is made up/untrue

3. most things in the description are correct

when you dispute, do not write proper english. they will not understand. use strong direct language. in the chinese language you do not beat around the bush and be sociable. it's exactly like german. you get straight to the point and be 100% direct.
