sonyxperiageek: Thanks for the ideas guys, what is the rough cost of hiring in a pro? I know someone in the house has an absolute hatred for any type of chemical being sprayed inside the house so this may be a very tough job to get going.

Without chemicals you will never get rid of them. Remember if you can see 10 cockroaches there is 100 cockroaches.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

What's your location? Auckland? If so, try the guy I suggested smile

Yes, Auckland. Thanks I will take a look.

How much did it cost for you to get your place done?

So far it's only been in the kitchen for us so won't need to go through the whole house, fortunately!

Pull the fridge out they seem to be a popular nesting spot for them.

I use ripcord every 3-5 months for ants and anything else to create a barrier around the outside of the house. I spray under the eves and around doors and windows or any point where insects may want to travel. Luckily my foundations are a concrete pad or I would also spray under the house. Letting of a bug bomb under the house and in the ceiling is also a good plan. Worth a try as pest controllers are too expensive for me.

I meant to add, if you have bark chip gardens around the home and up to the base boards get rid of them, they are a haven for cockroaches. Also firewood, store this away from the home.

For the fleas it was around $140, from memory. I never had cockroaches but he did mention that something like ants (for example) could quite expensive - upwards of $300 for ants. Ask him for a price, he's a good guy

Importantly ............ do you own the house or are you renting? And if you are renting, how long have you had the problem?

Sealing these areas will give cockroaches fewer places to hide, and when cockroaches have nowhere to hide, they’ll find somewhere else to live.

If you are not feeding them they are probably not yours.
