Yep, the erratic pulses stood out like the proverbial dogs balls.
Helped many a tapped call to drop off. On occasions we even had time to whip out to the coin boxes out the front of the building and catch the odd one or two tappers, or plug the butt in and tell them we were watching them even though we couldn't actually see them. We knew where the coin box was for each number so could tell the perp where they were which was good enough to convince them we were watching them.
Ahh those were the days.
