This would be something the likes of SCC and Hawaiki might pick up one day when the tubes start to get too small right?
Yup but I'm just talking about end-users. I have "gigabit"....and honestly I never touch the sides... and I'm a very heavy internet consumer with my usage often reaching several terabytes a month. I think my record was when I rebuilt my server a few months ago and I hit 14 terabytes in a month. I have umpteen devices that are online in the house and many upstream connections to my things, and still the bandwidth requirements don't touch the sides of what's available.
Totally see the benefit of this technology for backend infrastructure, but any Joe/Joanna Bloggs at home who thinks they'll benefit from this sort of tech terminating in their home is barking up the wrong tree.
