+1 for Die Hard as my favourite Christmas movie.

Also have to add a couple of Christmas songs:

Snoopy's Christmas.  I know it gets a lot of hate these days, but I still love it.  When I was a kid growing up in Auckland, Christmas was signalled by the first playing of Snoopy's Christmas by Merv Smith on 1ZB.  I don't listen to the radio anymore, so I settle for playing Snoopy on Spotify when we put up and decorate the tree.  We also had a full Snoopy album by the Royal Guardsmen which I can't find anymore, and built out the Snoopy-as-WW1-ace story (including when he ran for president!)

What are we gonna get 'er indoors - Dennis Waterman and George Cole. This one because it reminds me of my dad, who was a big fan of Minder.

I am happy to include more things in the title. Anything that brings some positive focus to the community is a good thing.

Let It Snow, especially the Ella Fitzgerald or Diana Krall versions.

Movie wise it has to be Home Alone.

As a side note, I have to say that moving to NZ killed Christmas for me. It's such a non-event here and everything just feels wrong. It's also irritating because everything shuts for so long that you can't get any work done!

I hate Christmas songs with a passion, we get them rammed down our ears every time we go near a shop.

Call me the grinch if you like.

I am a fan of parodies myself and also Kevin Bloody Wilson who made some excellent Christmas themed songs.

NSFW, but fine to pipe through the alarm speaker for several years before my mother worked what was in my playlist. The neighbours didn't seem to mind.

I was scrolling through Apple Music mindlessly in bed the other night and stumbled on a Christmas album by Seth MacFarlane, of all people.  Funny thing though, it's GREAT!  He's got a superb voice for singing swing and jazz and is accompanied by a full jazz orchestra (probably the Family Guy orchestra).  I'll be playing this on Christmas Day in the background, always looking for anything that can replace the traditional Christmas music.

Not too fussed on the music, usually my wife takes care of that.

The classic Xmas movie in our house is Home Alone 1 & 2, I never get tired of them. Our kids are too young to enjoy them just yet. Love Actually is obviously a classic.

My absolute favourites from the music side of things are as follows:

Santa Claus is Coming to Town  - Bruce Springsteen's tuneless version

Do They Know It's Christmas  - Band Aid (original version)

Snoopy's Christmas - The Royal Guardsmen?

Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade
