Meh, I can't see any reason for me to be offended by it, to be honest I'm impressed by the dash cam that I'm contemplating buying one.

MikeB4:

I purchased a phone from PB Tech last year it is the last time I will buy from them, no because of this advertisement which is in bad taste but due to their dreadful customer service and the terrible attitude of their staff.

Unusual in my experience. Maybe this is a particular branch.

PBtech have done nothing wrong here, however I'm surprised no-one has mentioned how quickly the dashcam owner stopped. I'm pretty sure the screeching of tyres was from the driver with the cam... He has a front cam too - be interesting to see what he was avoiding. If he was stopping for an orange light then he shouldn't have been - there's no need to stop so violently for a set of lights that you lock your brakes.

Great dashcam footage though... A dashcam is the single best thing you can do to stop other drivers doing stupid things in front of you!

Cheers - N

I also question where he would have stopped. It looks to me like he would have been slightly over the line, but not excessively so if he had a small car. That particular intersection is on a downward slope in a 60kmh^-1 area. I'm told the intersection has crashes quite regularly.

It is worth noting that the two intersections prior to that recently had red light cameras installed. I don't know about the rest of you, but driving through those intersections makes me incredibly nervous and prone to breaking harder than I should. Perhaps that was also a factor?

Viewed at half speed there's an edit or gap in the video between the crash and the dashcam driver approaching the other vehicle.

Maybe the point of this is the other driver needs a dashcam.

I  guess it has been a pretty good marketing idea, as it has got people talking.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it, especially since they did a hit and run.

Yep, prime TV coverage that would have otherwise cost a fortune. Marketing team at PB should get a bonus. I personally think the add is great, but I didn’t grow up in this snowflake era of the perpetually offended.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

The dude on TV3 news was complaining it was racist.  PBtech  should have chosen dash cam footage of white Irish immigrants doing a hit and run, and then no one would be complaining.

What is it that annoys you about the video?

the non-blurring of faces?

the making fun of a plus size PI woman?

Yes and yes.

How would you feel if a company put out a video of you in an embarrassing situation as part of a nationwide promotion, without your knowledge or consent, and used the promotion to poke fun at your physical appearance in the process?

I think that's the least of her worries right now...

Yeah true. It seems like about time dashcams solved this problem.
