L'Or and Maccona aluminium capsules all work just fine in mine.

Both are made in France.

I still think the original ones are the best, but those two will do at a pinch.

One of my dogs assaulted the very rare limited Explorations edition coffee that I had (so rare that they only give you one sleeve of each of the 4 coffees in the presentation pack and you cannot buy more anywhere) and learned the lesson that (a) that makes me unhappy and (b) eating coffee grounds makes him vomit.

I agree with others who have endorsed www.coffeecapsules2u.co.nz. I have used them for 2-3 years. Never any "incompatability" issue with my Nespresso machine. Good quality coffee. Really good prices. And IMHO truly exceptional service - I can't think of any business that is better! Very efficient ordering and delivery plus always a "personal touch" such as the hand-written note of thanks with every order. I often recommend them to others and everyone I know who has tried them have been very pleased.

Having been home for the last three weeks recovering from a surgery, I ran out of coffee pods - bad planning. Rather than going to the supermarket to get a third party brande (of which I tried some and yes L'Or seem to be good), I took advantage of a Nespresso promotion last week of free next day shipping and a free seven sampler box when buying 80 pods. Delivered next day in the morning, so I didn't even have to leave the house. Crisis averted...

Back on this topic... Bought some Illy and Moccona branded capsules at the supermarket this week. Both are produced in France by Moccona's owner, Dutch company Douwe Egberts.

I have to say I was impressed with the Illy coffee. Might make it my goto option as it's a couple of dollars cheaper than Nespresso.

Also noticed the Nespresso-compatible Startbucks pods. Reading the box you find out it's actually made in Switzerland, by Nespresso.

Thumbs up for the Starbucks pods. Often on sale and cheaper than Nespresso.

We use the original ones. Nespresso make and sell through supermarkets a range of Starbucks branded capsules which are very nice and usually cheaper - for example, I bought 6 sleeves of Starbucks Sumatra capsules at $6.50 each in New World the other day.

Nespresso is owned by Nestle and Nestle did a worldwide distribution deal with Starbucks - hence they are genuine capsules.

As far as recycling goes, I just order the $2.50 (or therabouts) post paid recycling bags from Nespresso's NZ website and drop the full bags at the post office.

We just put all capsules in a bag, then dump the contents at Nespresso recycling boxes available at our local garden centre - if you look for it, a good number of those will be around in those spaces.

Ah - but then (a) I would have to go to a garden centre (😱) and (b) it would probably cost me more in fuel to do that!

2nd 3rd and 4th L'Or capsules. I have a Creatista Uno and love latte. Default supermarket are L'Or Columbia and India. From Nespresso the Ispirazione Genova or Master Origins India. Nespresso Decaf I gor for the Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio. Anything else may as well drink hot milk :(. I have tried the entire range at much cost and most in the supermarket to find the staples.

L'Or are often on special at Countdown for $6.90 a box of 10

msukiwi:

Must have been a special on delivery, but now from the Nespresso website:

"Next Day delivery $5.50 on any order or free on orders of 100 capsules or more. Next Day Delivery is available for orders placed prior to 5.00pm (business days only) to be delivered the next business day*.

We find if we order before noon, they usually deliver the next working day - even if we don't pay for next day delivery (Wellington to Blenheim).  It's actually easier than going to the supermarket.

A colleague of mine enjoys Starbucks Nespresso-compatible pods.  Apparently they are nothing like Starbucks coffee.

I buy Nespresso.  I have to have decaf for medical reasons and Nespresso have a few decaf options.
