I'm still not sure how they can sent Thanos back alive to their original time-line after he has come forward. The infinity stones can do anything answer is disappointing.

But the thing that really bothered me was finding Scott name carved on stone in the memorial garden. Really that Garden held 3.5 million names of the disappeared in the greater bay area :)

And how the hell did the world cope with 3.5 Billion people suddenly re-appearing after it had spent 5 years in a huge recession after they suddenly disappeared.
The magic stones fixed up all the housing and clean up all the empty trash bags?

LOL - it's a super hero movie - not sure it should make total sense because, hey the Norse gods are real!

Still I really enjoyed the movie - this is just nit-picking.

Biggest plot hole was Hawkeye's wife phoning him right after being snapped back into re-existence - you've been dead for five years, how do you still have active cell service on the same number?!

I left the theatre really disappointed after Endgame, which was a shame because I really enjoyed Infinity War.

The time travel stuff made no sense.

I've since read the interpretation that every change made in the past creates a new timeline, and this is meant to explain why the present doesn't change. But how does Captain America then jump BETWEEN different parallel timelines at the end to return the stones (and Thor's hammer)?

More importantly, it's heavily implied that when Captain America chose to stay in the past to be with Peggy, that he then lived his life and grew old until he eventually "caught up" with the present and passed the shield onto Falcon. But if it was an alternate timeline how did he catch up with Falcon and the others in the prime timeline?

Time travel done poorly or inconsistently in movies is a real annoyance of mine, and it ruined the movie for me.

Other annoyances were:

Thor, they took the semi funny fat/drunk joke but then were stuck with it throughout the whole movie. Then essentially abandoning his people at the end seemed out of character.

I thought the half-Hulk/half-Banner thing was clever, but it occurred to me later that none of the Hulk's personality was retained; so it was all Banner, just in a half-Hulk body.

Thanos was a very nuanced and almost sympathetic antagonist in Infinity War, but is 2014 version was just a one dimensional villain.

Additional thought: A great post credits scene would have been Captain America awkwardly meeting up with Red Skull when returning the Soul Stone (they have a history) just as Red Skull was hosing down the bloody mess Black Widow's fall left.

But would Red skull have even been there,?? If there was no soul stone for him to "Guard" what would he have actually been doing?

Surely he is "freed" from Volmir once someone takes the stone?

I was kind of hoping the post credit scene might have been something honouring Stan Lee, but maybe that will come in Spider-Man FFH.
Since time travel is beyond human experience (as far as we know), then it will do your head in trying to resolve the paradoxes. Theories are just that and I think maybe the Russo Brothers were poking as much fun on their own take on time travel as they did when referencing other time travel stories as bs in the movie.
I stopped reading Marvel comics about 40 years ago, but I understand that a lot of what was portrayed in Endgame can be found somewhere in them.
I too thought it was a bit strange that Clint kept paying his wife’s cellphone account for 5 years after she disappeared while he was slaughtering his way around the globe. Unless of course Hulk’s snap resurrected everyone’s accounts (and updated their Facebook status). Man that would be a lot of carry over minutes and data!

I know I'm in the minority in being disappointed by Endgame, but I can't see how even people who enjoyed it could possibly label it potentially the best movie they've ever seen (unless they haven't seen many).

But to each their own I guess.

Yeah I guess expectation is indeed subjective. Whether a movie is any good is exactly the same as whether a meal /dish is any good. Eg when it's a curry.
