First comment: that ad banner on top is HUGE and uses half othe screen on a Microsoft Surface. What a shame.

Huge on iOS too.

Like the ⭐️ Favourites bar - though you can only show 3 Favourites in the bar, you have to click on the ⭐️ Hamburger drop menu to bring up any more Favourites. They should of used the standard right facing double chevron there though.

The slider for the Rain radar is there but you have to click on the radar map to enlarge then the slider comes into play along with other rain maps.

I have actually made the BoP Radar map a ⭐️ Favourite.

10 day forcast is now called Extended

I just Bookmarked my Location: https://beta.metservice.com/towns-cities/locations/tauranga

Then added it to my ⭐️ Favourites bar just after the BoP Radar Map so I can return to it quickly from anywhere in the site because that Search bar is a constant.

Overall I am liking this new site 🌦

Not keen on it on IOS (iPad). The main reason is that for me much of the at-a-glance information is missing.

Things such as the 5/10 day forecast, the hourly temperature and the map of the country. A lot of the information appears to have been put into vertical lists, so I found myself scrolling to look for things. Also, it is difficult to discover active areas of the UI vs non-active.

Hopefully, the will do a usability study & review on it vs the old site.

Forgot to mention I do use the iOS app on my iPad and iPhone.

OK I suppose but could be better.

In my opinion that is a very poor substitute for the original slider and the map animation that went with it. In this regard the beta site is way inferior to the present site.

I'm  in no hurry to bookmark the beta site.

I'd like to see the '2 Hourly Obs and Forecast' slider be able to go back a day.  At midnight all yesterdays rainfall data gets hidden, I'd like to be able to see what we got vs the forecasts when I last checked.

Yeah... way too big.  I ended up creating a Stylish theme for that part of the site alone.

I agree - the original slider was more functional.

Also the map is just too darn big!  It takes up more than a 1080p screen!  Having to scroll the screen for a rain radar map (and I bet others) is crazy.

I agree with above, the new slider and map size for the rain radar and 3/5 day forecasts is worse than the original one.

Preferred the original map size and slider, where you could drag the slider back and forth manually, to see the the weather flow.
Plus the slider would become sticky to the top of the screen when you scrolled down.

Thanks for the feedback! We are keeping an eye on the Geekzone thread- one of us will jump in there when things calm down a bit. We're a pretty small team here as you can imagine.

I see the beta website is now the new website.

While the new site looks good there is one glaring step backwards.

There is now no slider for the rain radar and rain forecast images like the old site had.

Please, please, please put the slider back. It was a feature I used every time I visited the met service site. For me the new site is a major step backwards.

I like it, but a few tweaks are needed.

When you visit it from a mobile, please PLEASE put a 'view desktop' link.

Change the color scheme, the light blue is appalling on older or dim screens with a poor color gamut.

On the desktop, you can click on one of the pictures in the row of rain radar images and drag it left and right and the it acts like the old slider, though the old slider was better.
